Kevin Garcia, Founding Attorney

Why I Started Tu Voz Trial Attorneys

I founded Tu Voz Trial Attorneys because no one should face the legal system feeling unheard. Too often, clients are reduced to file numbers while the system overlooks the human story behind each case. My mission is to make sure every client’s story is told with clarity, strength, and conviction. I fight for outcomes that protect both their rights and their future.

How Philosophy and Psychology Shape My Practice

My journey to becoming a lawyer began with a deep interest in philosophy. I was drawn to the writings of Michael Sandel, especially his argument that justice cannot be understood apart from the moral and civic ties that bind us together. That perspective shaped how I thought about fairness, not as an abstract idea but as something rooted in community, relationships, and responsibility.

As I continued my studies, I encountered W.V.O. Quine’s Two Dogmas of Empiricism. Quine’s challenge to accepted assumptions left a lasting impression on me. His work showed that even our most obvious beliefs deserve to be tested. That lesson still guides how I approach legal cases. I never take a police report, an accident narrative, or an insurance company’s version of events at face value. I look deeper, question the gaps, and challenge what others may accept too quickly.

Philosophy raised another important question for me. If justice is about fairness among people, how much of our sense of justice is shaped by external pressures, biases, or human limitations? That question led me to psychology. Studying cognition and behavior gave me insight into how decisions are influenced by stress, trauma, memory, and perception. These lessons are invaluable in the courtroom. Trials are not only about statutes and evidence, they are about people, and people are shaped by psychology as much as by logic.

Together, philosophy and psychology gave me the tools to see justice from multiple angles: the ideals that guide it, the assumptions that can undermine it, and the human realities that shape it. These studies taught me to think critically, question relentlessly, and never forget that behind every case is a person whose life may be defined by the outcome. That intellectual foundation drives how I approach every client and every case at Tu Voz Trial Attorneys.

Background and Experience

Before founding Tu Voz Trial Attorneys, I served as a felony prosecutor with the El Paso District Attorney’s Office. In that role I gained valuable trial experience and learned how cases are built and prosecuted. I later worked with respected personal injury firms, representing clients whose lives were changed by serious accidents. This combination of courtroom skill and plaintiff-side advocacy shaped my approach today. I am not afraid to take a case to trial, and I fight every step of the way to make sure my clients’ voices are heard.

Why El Paso Matters to Me

El Paso is more than where I practice law. It is my home. I grew up here and after high school I served as a volunteer firefighter, which showed me the importance of stepping up when people need help the most. While many see the challenges of El Paso as reasons to leave, I see them as reasons to stay and work to improve our community. My decision to build my firm here reflects my commitment to serving the people of El Paso.
